Madeline J. Shreves

Madeline Joyce Huston Shreves, 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at her home in Sistersville, W.Va. She was born April 24, 1934 to the late Ralph Clark and Dorothy Josephine Huston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Victor Shreves; and her sister, Gertrude Mitchell. Madeline's occupation, hobby, and joy were her children, grandchildren and much to her delight, her great-grandchildren. Surviving are five daughters, Bonnie (Larry) Groves of Newport, Ohio, and grandchildren, Chris of Columbus, Ohio, Jason, and great-grandson, Noah of Wheeling, W.Va., Gina of Morgantown, W.Va., Connie (Ron) Bowers, of Marietta, Ohio, and grandchildren, Gabriel (Rebecca) Fiest, and great-grandchildren, Autumn and Clay of Bridgeport, W.Va., Andrew of Marietta, Ohio, and Megan of Morgantown, W.Va., Joyce Snyder of New Martinsville, W.Va. and grandchildren, Jerrett of Charleston, S.C., Zachary and Jourdan of New Martinsville, W.Va., Susan (Jim) DeTorre of Albemarle, N.C. and step grandchildren, Rebecca (Dennis) Grubb and Great grandson Miles, of Philadelphia, Pa., and David of Charleston, S.C. and Melissa (Wade) Visser of Milo, Mo. and grandchildren, Ashlii Winland and great-grandson, Connor, Cassandra and Mickey Winland; sisters, Juanita Cecil of Jackson, Ga., Mildred Blatter of New Martinsville, W.Va., Josephine Cunningham of St. Mary's, W.Va., Ruth Owen of Tampa, Fla., and Ramona Van Dyne of Paris, Ohio; brother, Ralph Huston of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Sistersville, W.Va. .Friends will be received from 12 Noon until time of services.
