Mary "June" Zagle

Mary “June” Zagle, 91, of Sistersville, WV, passed away June 22, 2024 at home.

June was born on May 21, 1933, in Doddridge County, WV and was one of eleven children of Russell B. and Rebecca Knight Ferrebee.  She was a homemaker and caregiver.  She was a faithful member of the Sistersville Church of Christ and active member of the Riverfront Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed attending the Tyler County Fair and was selected the Tyler County Belle in 2004.  She also enjoyed the events at the WV Oil & Gas Festival in Sistersville, WV.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Wells of Shiloh area; grandson, Brent (Heather) Wells of Graham, NC; granddaughter, Jaclyn (Justin) Carr of Maidsville, WV; great-grandson, Logan Carr of Maidsville, WV; sisters, Mary “Polly” George of Pennsboro, WV, Hazel “Bunnie” Lemasters of West Union, WV, Leona “Pat” Roscoe and Martha Hicks, of Steubenville, OH; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Zagle; son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Wells; brother, Arley B. Ferrebee; sisters, Dorothy Mae Lancaster, Ruby Jean “Peggy” Cunningham, Ruth Bunting, Betty Ferrebee and Orpha Iams.

The family would like to express their grateful thanks to Journey Hospice in Sistersville and to their family friend, Kim Stull during this difficult time.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM at Myers Funeral Home with Evangelist Skip Andrews officiating.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
