Mary C. Knowlton

Mary C. Knowlton, 94, of Proctor, W.Va., passed away February 7, 2009 at her home. She was born August 21, 1914 in Hundred, W.Va., to the late William Fred Anderson and Edna B. Hunt Anderson. She was a retired cook at the former Welcome School in Kent, W.Va., and was a member of the Duffy Church of Christ in Duffy, W.Va. She is survived by her son William H. (Karen) Knowlton of Proctor, W.Va.; granddaughter Melinda Knowlton; great-granddaughters Josephine and Deborah Jarret; and brothers John W. "Pete" Anderson of Elkview, W.Va., and Harmon W. Anderson of Auburn, Ga. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon L. Knowlton, on June 25, 1991; and brothers William Harry Anderson in 1997 and Harley Anderson in 2006. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the Myers Funeral Home with Evangelist Jerry Yost officiating. Burial will follow at the Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, W.Va. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
