Mary Pauline "Polly" Hayes

Mary Pauline “Polly” Orvin Hayes, 87, of Middlebourne, formerly of Charleston, SC, passed away June 23, 2011 at Judge’s Personal Care Home. She was born November 11, 1923, in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Edward Zimmerman Orvin and Minnie Louise Hiott Orvin Lawrence. Polly was a graduate of Medical University of South Carolina. She was a registered nurse at Colin Anderson Center and Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Middlebourne United Methodist Church. Polly is survived by her children, Pamela (Charles) Delauder of Middlebourne, William (Tammy) Hayes of Wheeling, Susan (Frank) Grilli of New Martinsville and Brenda (Vance) Monroe of Middlebourne; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Orvin of N. Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and special cousin, Lenora Hall of Edisto Beach, SC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, Michael Vernon Hayes and Grover Cleveland Hayes, brother, Edward Orvin and stepfather, Garrett Lawrence. Services will be Monday at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Middlebourne Cemetery.
