Mary Lou Rice

Mary Lou Rice, age 80, of Friendly, WV died Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Sistersville Center, Sistersville, WV. She was born on May 6, 1935 in Pleasants County, WV, a daughter of the late Robert H. and Rebecca Stewart Barnhart. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Criss Rice; six brothers: Donald, Bill, Charles, Franklin, Dallas and Arthur Barnhart; five sisters: Laverna Barnhart, Nellie Barnhart, Eileen Hawkins, Margaret Gregory and Shirley Glover. Survivors include her husband, Herbert W. Rice; three children: Linda (Steve) Leasure of Sistersville, Robert L. Rice of Friendly and William H. (Teresa) Rice of Sistersville; a daughter-in-law, Diane Rice of Friendly; nine grandchildren: Trisha Leasure Bennett, Jeni Leasure Bohrer, Amanda Rice Kemp, Jason Rice, Joshua Rice, Kelly Rice, Jake Rice, Robert W. Rice and Rebecca Rice; great grandchildren: Carter Bohrer, Jenna Bohrer, Avery Kemp and Abigail Kemp. Mary Lou dedicated the last 10 years of her life raising three great grandchildren, Chyainna, Isaac and Hailey Rice. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Sistersville where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 with Bishop Adrian Cowgill officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendly Cemetery, Friendly, WV.
