Matthew "Matt" Scott Boggs

Matthew "Matt" Scott Boggs, 36, of Middlebourne, WV, passed away March 29, 2016, at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was born July 28, 1979, in Glen Dale, WV, a son of Rodney Boggs and Kimberly Myers Boggs. Matt was a Tyler County 911 Dispatcher and Founder of Boggs Pizza and Grill. He attended Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman. He also loved to hunt, trap and coach youth sports. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Betsy James Boggs of Middlebourne; son, Landon Boggs; daughter, Jozey Boggs; sister, Meggan (Angie) Merritt of Harrisville, WV; nephews, Logan and Jaxson Hostuttler of Harrisville, WV; paternal grandmother, Donna "Dot" Boggs of Middlebourne, WV; great-uncle, Vance Weekley of Pennsboro, WV and mother-in-law, Stephanie Poling of Pennsboro, WV and several other Aunts, Uncles and extended family. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Louis and Rogene Hissam Myers and paternal grandfather, Jack Boggs. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Scholarship of Hope Fund, payable to Boggs Pizza, PO Box 322, Middlebourne, WV 26149. Visitation will be Thursday from 12-8 pm at Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church. Friends will also be received on Friday from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bobby Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Middlebourne Cemetery.
