Maxine P. Weekley

Maxine P. “Tillie” Weekley, 83, of Sistersville, W.Va. passed away on September 27, 2008 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, W.Va. She was born January 5, 1925 to the late Friend Harton and Georgia Haddox Wickham. Maxine was crowned 2002 Tyler County Belle and also 2008 Valentine Queen. She was a member of the Riverfront Senior Citizens and the Sistersville Church of the Nazarene, and was a 5 year volunteer for the Tyler County Headstart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 40 years, Homer W. Weekley, one sister, two brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. She is survived by six sons, Homer Weekley of McConnellsville, Ohio, Gary Weekley of Wheeling, W.Va., Gilbert Weekley of Paden City, W.Va., and Roger Weekley, Mike Weekley and Dave Weekley, all of Sistersville, W.Va.; four daughters, Linda Jones of Sistersville, W.Va., Geneva West of Middlebourne, W.Va., Myra Chislom of Randleman, North Carolina and Nancy Roxby of Naples, Fla.; three brothers; one sister; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and her caregiver, Lorena Ferrell. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Myers Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 - 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
