Nellie Riggs

Nellie Riggs, 84, of Middlebourne, WV, passed away on October 7, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born November 25, 1936, in Tyler County, WV, to the late Lloyd Owens and Cronie Lamp Owens Summers. Nellie retired from Union Bank.She loved and doted on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she enjoyed sewing and cooking. She is survived by her sons; Bill (Tammy) Riggs of Alma, WV and Bob Riggs of Middlebourne, WV; daughters, Julia (Randy) Murray and Elizabeth (Orren) Riggs, both of Middlebourne, WV; sister, Shirley Wilkinson, grandchildren, Megan (Jason) Ancell, Lauren (Shane) Matthews and Shane (Brandi) Murray and great-grandchildren, Madison, Landon, Aleeah, Lakyn, Izzie and Jax. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Riggs; son, Thomas Brian; sisters, Pearl Dawson, Alice Brightwell and Edith Owens and brother, Junior Owens. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.Graveside service will follow at Middlebourne Cemetery with Reverend Bobby Thomas officiating.
