Orvel C. Evans, 94, of New Matamoras, OH, passed away on June 17, 2012 at OVMC. He was born April 28, 1918 in Fly, OH, a son of the late Richard Evans and Della Bruce Evans. He was a WWII Army veteran serving in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe battles. He was a member of the American Legion and he was a retired employee of Ormet, Paden City Pottery and various other jobs. He is survived by daughters, Connie (Don Yonley) Nickerson and Geneva Ewers; seven grandchildren, Ricky (Jean) Ewers, Dianna Ewers, Sandy Felton, Dale (Tammy) Ewers, Kelly (Robbie) Stottlemire, Ronnie (Laurna) Ewers and Rachel Knotts; two visiting great-grandchildren, Amanda Ewers and Stacie (Kevin) Arnold; six great great-grandchildren, Grace, Bailey and Mason Arnold and Tyce, Tyler and Lexie Felton and several great and great great- grandchildren unknown by him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Mildred Ludolph Evans; brothers, Warren (June) Evans, Myron (Nory) Evans and Clarence (Louise) Evans; sister, Gladys (Wilbur) Koher; two half brothers, Kenneth Evans and Rolf Evans; two sons-in-law, Glen Nickerson and Roger Ewers; granddaughter, Rhonda Ewers and grandson, David Ewers. Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Kurt Smith officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home.
