Paul Arthur Travis

Paul Travis, 86, of Sistersville, WV, passed away December 21, 2010 at Sistersville General Hospital. He was born September 5, 1924 in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Thomas Benton Travis and Olive Grimm Travis. Paul served in the US Navy on the SC1018 Subchaser in WWII, he was a retired security guard at Colin Anderson Center and he was a member of the American Legion Post #67. He is survived by his son, Tom (Sherri) Travis of Friendly; daughter, Patricia (Rick) Joy of Proctor; sister, Mable Kirkpatrick of Ashland, OH; grandsons, Scott (Stacey) Deaton of Fort Knox, KY and Andrew Joy of Antioch, IL; granddaughters, Stephanie (Kevin) Barnhart of Bens Run and Heather (Mike) Deaton of Sistersville and six great grand-children. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Travis, brothers, Frank, Jack and Butch Travis and sisters, Juanita Kirkpatrick and Erma Sole. Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Williamson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Myers Funeral Home.
