Phyllis O. Pierce

Pierce, Phyllis O., age 88, of Sistersville, WV died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at her family’s residence. She was born on May 3, 1927 in Jackson County, WV a daughter of the late Hod and Vera Cathers Milhoan. Phyllis retired as a health care worker at the former Colin Anderson Center, St. Mary’s, WV; was a member of the Church of Christ, Pleasants Valley. She loved to can and sew quilt pieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olin L. Pierce on November 24, 2000; four brothers; Ronnie, Wayne, Bobby and Dallas Milhoan and one sister, Betty Lafferre. Survivors include five sons: James (Roberta) Pierce of Hundred, WV, Gary (Betty) Pierce of Middlebourne, WV, Ronald (Donna) Pierce of Wileyville, WV, Greg (Linda) Pierce of Friendly, WV and Terry Pierce of Mifflinburg, PA; four daughters: Sheila (Danny) Boston of Hundred, Linda (Richard) Tuttle of Sistersville, Marsha (Steve) Hicks of St. Mary’s, and Melissa (David) Robinson of Sistersville; four brothers: Junior, Niles, Gordon and Dayton Milhoan; two sisters: Juanita and Vonnie Milhoan; 34 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Family will receive friends at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Journey Hospice, 314 S. Wells St., Sistersville, WV 26175.
