Phyllis A. Neely Starkey, 85, of Sistersville, W.Va. passed away January 27, 2010 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. She was born December 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Harold C. and Alphretta Tippens Neely. She was a homemaker and while residing in Sistersville she was a member of the Oxford Street Church of Christ in Sistersville and in recent years she became a member of the Lynn Street Church of Christ in Parkersburg, W.Va. She is survived by a son, Robert (“Bunny”) Starkey of Sistersville, W.Va.; daughters, Sara (Don) Swisher of Williamstown, W.Va., Brenda (Tim) Collins of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Melanie (Steve) Tocco of Chester, Va.; a sister, Ruth Smith, of Sistersville, W.Va.; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. “Bruce” Starkey; and brothers, Jerry Neely and Joe Neely. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturyday, January 30, 2010 at the Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Sistersville, W.Va. with Evangelist Jerry Toothman and Evangelist Teddy Tackett officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
