Ray Gorrell, 74, of Middlebourne, WV, passed away on March 9, 2015 at home. He was born June 23, 1940, in New Martinsville, a son of the late Homer Gorrell and Martha Myers Gorrell. Ray was an electronic technician and was well known for his repair work. He was a past President of the Tyler County Amateur Radio Organization. He was a very talented and crafty man. He is survived by his son, David (Tracy) Gorrell; grandchildren, Emily and Jarrod Gorrell all of Cleveland, TN; brother, Roy Gorrell of Middlebourne; niece, Jennifer (Mike) Gorrell; great-nieces, Madison Gorrell of Middlebourne, Taylor (Zain) Charkawi of Oklohoma and Vanessa Pate of North Carolina; great-great nieces, Kindal Charkawi and Elizabeth Pate; great-nephew Noah Charkawi and special friend, Scott (Amberly) Brown of Charleston, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys "Gay" Lambert Gorrell in 2013. According to Ray's wishes, he will be cremated and the family will have a graveside memorial service at their convenience.
