Raymond "Ray" Tarnecki

Raymond "Ray" Tarnecki, 78, of Sistersville, WV, passed away December 19, 2019 at home. He was born October 28, 1941, in Nanticoke, PA, a son of the late Bernard Tarnecki and Helen Sklaney Tarnecki. Ray was a retired Sergeant 1st class Army veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. He taught Junior ROTC and he was a truck driver. He was a member of the Sistersville VFW Post #6327, Sistersville American Legion Post #67, Paden City Eagles and New Martinsville Moose Lodge #931, AmVets, DAV and the Blue Blazers. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Alice Tarnecki; daughter, Pamela Tarnecki and granddaughter, Madeline Tarnecki, son, Steven Tarnecki and his other children, Bobbie Jo and Debbie and William Tarnecki; fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sister, Joan (Frank) Schank and brother-in-law, Herb Hochstadt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Hochstadt. There will be a graveside memorial service at a later date at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA with full military graveside rites.
