Richard Barnhart

Richard Barnhart, 95, of Sistersville, WV, passed away November 13, 2023 at Sistersville Center. He was born November 12, 1928, in Raven Rock, WV, a son of the late Richard C. Barnhart and Ethel Huffman Barnhart. Richard enlisted in the United States Navy, service for eight month and then re-enlisted in the United States Army, serving for two years. The Army then loaned him to the United States Air Force to help build Air Bases in Alaska. He retired from Ormet Corporation as a Crane Operator and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Never one to sit idle, he worked several part-time jobs and he enjoyed fishing with his wife. He was a lifetime member of the Hannibal American Legion Post #760. He is survived by his daughters, Karla (Dick) Weekley of Sistersville, WV and Debra Pandelos of Bridgeport, OH; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Joan Howell; sons, Timothy Barnhart and Richard Barnhart and brothers, Roy Barnhart and William Barnhart. Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating.
