Rodney Lawrence Shreves, 68, of Sistersville, WV, passed away August 31, 2015, peacefully with his wife Tara and niece, Khara Wren by his side. He was born November 1, 1946, in Sistersville, a son of the late Ernest Emery Shreves and Opal Onalee Tice Shreves. Rodney was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War in 1965 and 1966. He worked in the Shipping/Receiving Department at Eaton Corporation. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Tara Knowlton Shreves of Sistersville, WV; brothers, Kenneth Shreves of Tacoma, WA, Ronald Shreves of Pottstown, PA, Toby Shreves of Hopkinsville, KY and Tony Shreves of Paden City, WV; sister, Rachel Leasure of Sistersville, WV; step-daughter, Lisa Murray of Lumberton, NJ; niece and nephew, Gayle and Kenny Williamson, niece, Khara Wren; mother-in-law, Jean Knowlton and step father-in-law, Marvin Cinquepalmi, Jr.; granddaughters, Hayley Tores and Jessica Murray; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and father-in-law, Gary Knowlton. The family would like to extend a very sincere "thank you" to his loving niece and nephew, Gayle and Kenny Williamson who helped take care of him for the past several months. Also to Journey Hospice for their warm and caring service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Rosenbaum Family House, 1 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505. There will be a graveside memorial service at Shreves Cemetery on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating with full military rites.
