Roger Lee Klages

Klages, Roger Lee, age 68, of Sistersville, WV died Friday, December 30, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Glen Dale, WV on September 22, 1948 a son of the late Wilbert Theodore and Myrtle Chloe Sams Klages. Roger retired from Union Carbide as a Senior Lab Technician; was a Purple Heart Recipient serving in the Marines during the Vietnam War; was the Pastor at the former Faith Temple Church and recently attended the Paden City Church of the Nazarene. His main joy in life were his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Miller Klages on November 1, 2009; one infant son, Brian Klages and two brothers: Frank and Robert Klages. Surviving are two sons: Gregory (Sheryl) Klages of Mannington, WV, Mark (Kathy) Klages of Sistersville, WV; five grandchildren: Dallas (Cassie) Klages of Morgantown, WV, Gregory Klages of Morgantown, Katie (Dirk) Fletcher of New Martinsville, WV, Ty and Cody Klages both of Sistersville; two step-grandchildren: Nicole Barker and Melissa Wright both of Mannington; two brothers: Jim (Sandy) Klages of Bellaire, OH and Ray Klages of Bethlehem, WV; one sister: Evelyn Cordery of Bellaire; special friends: Jamie (Doug Burch) Thayer. Family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 pm at the Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Sistersville where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday with Pastor Scott Mapes officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville with full military graveside rites.
