Roger Lee Thomas

Roger Lee Thomas, 54, of New Matamoras, OH, passed away August 8, 2011 at home. He was born May 8, 1957 in Marietta, OH, a son of the late Raymond Thomas and Betty Leister Thomas. Roger was a musician and was a talented guitar player. He loved to hunt and fish. Roger is survived by his daughters, Gretchen (Ronnie) Earley and Leann (Arron Lasure, fiancé) Mace, both of New Matamoras, OH; sisters, Jan (Sis) Thomas, Parkersburg, WV, Sue (Earl) Myers, Kansas City, MO, Sandy (Ralph) Newman, Grayson, KY and Mary Lou (Darrell) Wittenkind, Marietta, OH; brothers, Don (Susie) Thomas and Ron (Deb) Thomas, Larry (Cheryl) Thomas and Jerry (Carla) Thomas, all of Newport, OH; grandchildren, Hunter Doggett, Sydni Lasure, Camron Earley and Keenan Earley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jo Thomas on July 18, 2011, nephew, Shane Thomas, and friends, Johnny Creighton and Don Edgar. Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Ivan Smitley officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 at Myers Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
