Rose Mckeehan Starcher

Rose McKeehan Starcher, 93, of Sistersville, WV, passed away November 12, 2010 at Sistersville Center. Rose was born September 21, 1917 in Grantsville, WV, the daughter of the late Harry and Nannie Kelley Smith. She was a former librarian at Calhoun County High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Sistersville. Rose graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was a member of the Martha Washington Chapter 22 OES, VFW Auxiliary, Ilex Twig, Red Hatters and was a VBS teacher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Victor C. Starcher who passed away in 1994, and her brother George Smith. Rose is survived by daughters, Seva (Joe) Hickman of Summersville, Nannie Mae (Don) Archer of Sistersville and Martha Jean (David) Wall of Scott Depot, WV; son, Philip C. Starcher of Cartersville, GA; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am at Myers Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Wood officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Myers Funeral Home. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at myersfuneralhomewv.com.
