Roy Gorrell

Roy Gorrell, 78, of Middlebourne, WV, passed away January 28, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital.

He was born August 23, 1945, in Tyler County, WV, the son of the late Homer Gorrell and Martha Myers Gorrell.

Roy retired as a Boiler Operator from Momentive Performance Materials, formerly Union Carbide and was a member of the Bert Church of Christ.  He was a race car driver and enjoyed hunting.  He loved to restore old cars and ride motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Gorrell of Middlebourne, WV; sons, Jeffrey Gorrell of Middlebourne, WV, Mike (Stacy) Gorrell of Shirley, WV and Aaron Gorrell of Middlebourne, WV; grandchildren, Vanessa Pate, Taylor Gorrell and Madison Gorrell and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Gorrell and Glen Gorrell.

Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home and visitation Saturday, from 11:00 am until time of funeral Service at 1:00 pm with Jay Stevens officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
