Roy A. Weekley

Roy Allen Weekley, 71, of Punta Gorda, FL, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home. He was born Oct. 15, 1943, in Wilbur, WV, to James Harold Weekley and Virginia Opal Weekley. Roy was a 1961 graduate of Tyler County High School. He enlisted in the US Army upon graduation and served from 1961 to 1965 – including duty in the Canal Zone, Panama. He retired from GE Plastics as a Color Analyst in 2000 after a 35 year career at the Washington, WV facility. Roy was an avid hobbyist, including amateur radio, hiking, nature photography, reading, electronics, and Tampa Bay Rays baseball. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Roy is survived by his wife, Rosa Mercedes Weekley, married on July 14, 1965; his children Ricardo (Rick) Weekley of Cincinnati, OH and Angela Gallo of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren Taylor Weekley, Isabella Gallo and Antonio (Vincent) Gallo; and siblings Betty Postlewait , Anna Griffin and Bradley Weekley. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 28th, from 1pm – 3pm, at Myers Funeral Home, in Sistersville, WV.
