Russell Baker

Russell C. Baker, 91, of Sistersville, WV passed away May 24, 2013 at Sistersville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 24, 1921 in Sistersville a son of the late Isaac R. and Leafy R. Reed Baker. Russell was a US Army Veteran of WWII, he served in the 99th Infantry Division. He was retired from Union Carbide after 28 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sistersville, American Legion Post #67 and VFW Post #6327. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Geneive “Jenny” Baker in 1995 and one brother Robert R. “Ike” Baker in 1993. He is survived by a special friend, Betty Fiest and several other friends. Services will be held Monday, May 27, 2013 at 2 PM at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV with Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with military graveside rites. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
