Ruth L. Moore

Ruth L. Moore 88, of Sistersville, WV passed away peacefully September 19, 2015 at Capital Caring Hospice, Arlington, VA. She was born September 5, 1927, a daughter of the late William and Carrie Roberts McClure. Ruth was an active lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church Sistersville as well as several civic organizations. She was an outstanding cook, enjoyed reading, and was an avid sports fan with a special fondness for WVU, Virginia Tech, UT and the New York Yankees. She was an exceptionally loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Burl H. Moore (1986), five brothers and six sisters. She is survived by her children Stanley Moore (Debbie) of Annandale, VA and Timothy Moore (Jacque) of Kansas City, MO., five grandchildren; Scott Moore, Kristie Moore, Tina Cecil, Cody Moore, Jesse Moore and one brother Ralph McClure of Youngstown, OH. Visitation will be held Tuesday 11:00 am with funeral services following at 12:00 Noon, First United Methodist Church Sistersville with Reverend Bill Dawson officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to Sistersville First United Methodist Church (FUMC) Methodist Women @ 610 Main Street, Sistersville, WV 26175. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville.
