Ruth E. Quinif

Ruth E. Quinif, 99 , of DeLand, Fl. passed away peacefully on February 13, 2018 at The Cloisters Assisted Living Facility, DeLand, Fl. She was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on August 30, 1918 to Guy and Grace Fowler Maxwell. She relocated when she married Fred Quinif in 1977 and remained in Sistersville until 2008. While living in Sistersville she and Fred owned and operated a flower and plant nursery. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, past member of American Legion and enjoyed playing Euchre with Auxiliary friends, especially daughter and daughter-in-law (Hoyle's Rules !) and lunch with Senior Citizens group. In 2008 Ruth moved to DeLand, FL. to be closer to her children. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and quiet evenings watching television and popcorn. Ruth was predeceased by Fred, her husband of 25 years; brother Guy Richard Maxwell, sister Betty White, daughter Marilyn O'Brien, great grandson Joseph Michael Colopy and step-great grandson Zachary Scali. Survivors include: Son: Edward "Mike"(Pat) Davies; Daughter: Marcia McMahon; Daughter: Kay Quinif Weltz Two Step-Sons: Don (Paula) Quinif and Michael (Paige) Quinif; 9 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great- Great- Grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26th at Myers Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville.
