Sarah Hammond

Sarah Hammond, 78, of Sistersville, WV, passed away April 10, 2025 at Sistersville General Hospital.

She was born November 17, 1946 in Mountain, WV, a daughter of the late Everette Darnell and Juanita Patton Darnell.

Sarah attended Wick School and graduated from Tyler County High School. She retired from the former Colin Anderson Center as a Health Care Worker. She loved spending time with her family and friends, going to the Senior Center and working puzzles. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and thrifting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her baby sister, Deloris Ann Darnell.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Aaron) Workman of Sistersville, WV and Beverly (Russel) Lamp of Sistersville, WV; brother, Leroy Darnell; sisters, Marie Dawson and Carol Carpenter; grandchildren, Mallory (Robbie) Binegar, Zachary (Maelee Taylor) Lamp, Shannon (Glory) Whitt and Ryan (Shianne Doll) Campbell; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Tate and Olivia Binegar and Addison Whitt and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at McKim Cemetery.
