Shirley Mae Doty

Shirley Doty, 83, of West Union, WV, passed away on March 22, 2024 at Sistersville General Hospital.

She was born July 21, 1940, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Louis Everett Britton and Catherine Virginia Caldwell Britton.

Shirley loved dancing and listening to all kinds of music, especially “old country”.  She enjoyed puzzles, yard sales, flea markets and playing cards with the grandkids.

She is survived by her daughters, Sally (Ronald) Ebert of West Union, WV and Bonnie (Larry Dean Price) Doty, of Sistersville, WV; grandchildren, Ronald “RJ” (Stephanie) Ebert, Brian (Amanda) Ebert, Steven (Jocelyn) Ebert, Angela Ebert, Amanda Wells, Christina Price and Shyanna Day; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Tylan, Carson, Jillian and Emersyn Ebert, Abigail, Emily, Jaden, Amber and Caleb Ebert, Coleson, Sienna and Christopher Ebert, Katlyn and Leah Cathers and Marcus Willison; brother, Jerry (Phyllis) Britton and sister, Patricia Peterson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Doty; four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 4-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home.  There will also be visitation on Thursday from 11-1 pm until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm with Greg Fluharty officiating.  Interment will be in Friendly Cemetery.
