Thelma Griffin Racer, 94, of Vienna, WV, formerly of Friendly, WV, passed away October 15, 2010 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born April 16, 1916, a daughter of the late Emmett Lawrence Griffin and Lula Cline Griffin. She was a member of the Friendly United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of SHS class of 1934, she worked along side her mother and father at the Friendly Post Office from 1942-1960 and she owned and operated the Friendly Food Center from 1966-1981. She is survived by a son, Thomas (Teresa) Sherman Racer, Jr. of Vienna, WV; daughter, Brenda (James) Kyle of Vienna, WV; sister, Estelle Starkey of Belpre, OH; grandchildren, James Kyle, Jr. of Vienna, WV, Angela Roush of Washington, WV, Jackie Lindamood of Parkersburg, WV, Amanda Pogue of Parkersburg, WV, Heather Racer of Walker, WV, Tomie Randall of Vienna, WV and T.S. Racer of Vienna, WV; and great grandchildren, Jayson Kyle of Parkersburg, WV, Alex Kyle of Williamstown, WV, Sgt. Evan Kyle, US Army, NY, Erick Roush of Parkersburg, WV, Sabrina Anderson of Charleston, WV, Raschel Anderson of Parkersburg, WV, Stephen Roush, Mount Union University, Alliance, OH and Cianah Racer of Vienna, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Thomas Sherman Racer, Sr.; brothers, Raymond, Lawrence, Harold and Don Griffin; and sister, Luella Griffin Price.
