Thelma R. Sheets Ash, 68, of Sistersville, W.Va. died November 28, 2008, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. She was born June 7, 1940 in Preston County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Howard Sheets and Rose Shreves Sheets. She was a homemaker; a member of the Elks Lodge No. 333, Sistersville; and the Lilac Twig. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil D. Ash, Sr. in 1986; and brothers, Arthur Sheets and Parry Sheets. Surviving are four sons, Virgil Ash, Jr. of New Martinsville, W.Va., Vincent Ash of Sistersville, W.Va., Vance Ash of Sistersville, W.Va. and Von Ash of Sistersville, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Andy Sheets of New York and Richard Sheets of Newburg, W.Va.; and sister, Mary Sanchez Sheets, of San Clemente, Calif. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, W.Va. with James Willison officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville, W.Va. Friends may call from 7 - 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
