Thomas "Pete" Whaley, 83, of Concord, NC, formerly of New Martinsville, WV and Hundred, WV, passed away March 3, 2019 at home. He was born June 23, 1935, in Monongah, WV, a son of the late Jeryl Whaley and Eleanor Leddy Whaley. Pete was a retired auto and diesel mechanic at the former Bayer Corporation. He loved working on cars in his spare time. He is survived by his daughters, Diana (Dave) Palmer of Sistersville, WV and Melissa (Jason) Linker of Concord, NC; brother, William "Bill" Whaley of Clarksburg, WV; grandchildren, Kellie (Ben) Roberts, Ashley (Danny) Thomas, Lindsey (Zack) Watson, Morgan Palmer, Corissa (Ryan) Linker, Leslie (Brad) Benton, Timothy Hayes, III, Christian Linker and Jacob Linker and twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Whaley and his brothers, Frankie and Jerry Whaley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Herman Cemetery Fund, c/o Lorna Phillips, Treasurer, PO Box 12, Hundred, WV 26575. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, officiated by son-in-law, Jason Linker. Interment will be at Paden Memorial Gardens.
