Robert Wayne Spencer

Robert Wayne Spencer, 83, of Paden City, WV, passed away, October 5, 2014, at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born September 15, 1931, a son of the late Warren Spencer and Hazel Sellers Spencer Grimes. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was retired from Ormet Corporation as an electrician. Robert was a member of the former Pine Grove VFW, New Martinsville VFW and the Paden City Eagles. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Nellie) Spencer of Moundsville and Archie (Lori) Spencer of Paden City; daughters, Brenda (Rodney) Cline of Paden City and Marsha (Joe) Saflin of Washington, D.C.; sister, Juanita Braniff of Paden City; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Felton Spencer; and brothers, Cordis Spencer and James Spencer. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1601 2nd Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Myers Funeral Home with Evangelist Dale Dudgeon officiating. Interment will follow at Paden Memorial Gardens with full military rites. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
