Roberta Mary Ellan Dawson Tanley Beaver

Roberta Mary Ellan Dawson Tanley Beaver, 80, of Sistersville, WV, passed away September 10, 2024.

She was born August 17, 1944, in Tyler County, WV, a daughter of the late Truman Dawson and Ollie Snider Dawson.

Roberta attended Harvest Time Faith Chapel of Eight Mile Ridge.  She enjoyed playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles, quilting and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Bobby) McNemar; sons, Danny (Janet Beegle) Tanley and Jeffery Tanley; step-daughters, Cindy Welch and Charlotte Beaver; step-son, Scott (Darlene) Beaver; grandson, Jeffery Scott Tanley, who she raised as her own; brothers, John Dawson and Truman “Jr” Dawson; sister, Barbara Ann Dawson Gump; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and several lifelong friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Dale F. Tanley and James Jerry Beaver; brother, Joseph Dawson; sisters, Betty Dawson Travis and Bonnie Dawson Boor; son, Dale Fredrick Tanley, Jr.; great-grandson, James Reed and step-son, David Beaver.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and aides at Journey Hospice and Dr. Holly Freed for all of their help and support thru their trying times.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home.  There will be visitation on Saturday from 11:00 am until time of the funeral service at noon with Pastor Gerald Richards officiating.  Interment will be in Northview Cemetery.
